The Spirant Assistant is a pioneering platform developed specifically for the world language learning field, providing cutting-edge support for educators with a suite of tools crafted to ease the challenges of teaching and learning world languages.
It Started Like This
The Spirant Assistant was developed as a resource by our founder, Tucker von Holten, to solve a real-world problem. A few years out of Georgia Tech with a computer science degree and a minor in German, Tucker found himself continuing to juggle dictionaries, conjugation tables, notes, and more to keep up his language studies. He thought, “Why can’t there be a tool that combines all of this for people learning languages?” So... he started building one. When he contacted his former professors to ask them to review and give it a try, they loved it. Further, they talked about their struggles with grading and asked if AI could help. Tucker then built a second tool, First Pass, to help ease the burdens of grading on educators. With both tools in the Spirant Assistant, Tucker formed the company – Spirant AI – with a vision to bring AI to classrooms in a way that helps educators and their students, rather than hinder them.
